No Fill and BYOC

My fill today was a non-event, because it didn't happen. I have lost 17 pounds in just under a month and I am eating regular foods and working out and feeling fabulous, so the surgeon didn't want to mess with that right now. I'm supposed to see how it goes for the next two weeks and then we'll re-evaluate the situation. I've only been eating solid protein for a few days and I've dropped 3 pounds since Monday, and he even said I might want to bump my calories and protein up a little if I am truly hungry. I had some baked fish and mashed potatoes from Boston Market for lunch today, ate about 3/4 of the fish and half the potatoes, and three hours later, I'm still not hungry. He also said I could add a small handful (about 10) almonds as a snack if I am hungry and I want something salty and crunchy.

I feel good about this.

And here are the answers to Drazil's BYOC questions...just for fun...

1. If you could change your first name - what would it be?
Not applicable. I love my name.

2. Why are man hole covers round?
Ummm...because pie are squared?

3. What's one of your biggest pet peeves?
People who drive slow in the fast lane. It also makes me crazy when people get right on my car's back bumper, especially in the rain. Aaaaargh!

4. If you could be a car - what would it be? Post a pic if you can.
A Smart car, because I want to be small and smart. I wouldn't want to DRIVE one, just be one.

5. What's the biggest thing you learned from a blog this week or which blog spoke to you the most this week off the top of your head?
It's not band-specific, but The Anti-Jared's post The King of Slot Machines, which is about being your own weight loss guru, really spoke to me.

Sounds like you are doing great! My doc is one of the ones that is pretty strict on fills, I only get them when my weight loss stalls or I gain. I didn't get my first fill till almost 3 months in. I was frustrated then, but now I am glad, since it gave me more time to change my mental attitude towards food. Now I'm slacking with that and need to get back on track.

Really Lacey? I was convinced that I was definitely going to get a fill because I was told something like, "You can't get a fill until your 4 week appointment." So I thought I would basically need a fill the first possible moment it was available and I was almost counting down the days. It's good to hear that my situation wasn't so weird. I guess I must have some restriction because I ordered a bowl of Skyline chili (my favorite!) for dinner last night and I could only eat half. I had the rest for lunch today. This is strange, but when I am getting full, I get a twinge in my jaw and get the feeling that if I take another bite, there will be trouble. So, I'm trying to hold onto that for as long as I can. My best friend and I are going out for seafood for dinner and I am looking forward to some crab legs and shrimp - if I'd gotten the fill, there's no chance I'd be able to eat that since I'd still be on liquids. So there are definitely some benefits to not getting the fill. :-)
