Food Pushers

Why is it ok for the food pushers at work to be so annoying? In what universe is it funny to literally wave a cupcake in someone's face while she is on the phone with a customer after she has specifically asked you to not talk to her about junk food and she has already said she does not want any and doesn't want to hear about it?

Grrrr.

It would be one thing if this really was a once-in-awhile treat, but there is crap food at my job nearly every day. There was pumpkin cake yesterday. I avoided it. I was told several times that I don't need to be such a stickler for my diet and I should loosen up every once in awhile.

I DO loosen up once in awhile. But not every day. I've come too far to screw up now.

If I were a drug addict would it be funny to wave crack in my face?

This was my day. I got in to work and went in to the kitchen to put my lunch in the fridge. There were bagels. There are ALWAYS bagels on Fridays.

A few hours later was when the cupcake thing happened.

This note was also on the freezer door.

All of this made for a very grumpy me.

I didn't give in though. I stuck to this:

And a couple of these:

I don't expect anyone to tiptoe around me and they can eat all of the crappy sugar-laden junk that they want to and balloon to 500 pounds. I don't care. Just stop waving the stuff in my face and being such assholes!

Great post...I love the comments I get when I have the balls to say no...people feel better about what they are eating if you join them...it's so annoying.

Story of my life, Steph! I'm a nurse... you'd think people working in health care would bring better food, but the reps are always bringing us JUNK! It gets really ridiculous sometimes. WORD!

I hear ya! Sadly the food pusher where I work are kids and they are normally celebrating their birthdays. When you have over six hundred kids on your campus, this happens quite frequently. So in order to not hurt anyone's feelings, I have a secret trash can under my desk where I deposit all the goodies those little monsters bring my way. :)

i hear ya. i work in an environment where not only there is junk food laying around but "breaking bread" is excepted as part of my job. and the type of "bread" they break is good ole country style home cooking. the next two weeks will be lunches and dinners like this. UGH. speaking of which...let's definitely make plans to get together sometime after the 20th.

I'm not looking forward to the upcoming holiday season in terms of goodies at work! They will abound. I'm usually good at staying away lately, but it's the free lunches as rewards for a project that has gone well that get me...I sort of have to go... I don't go overboard because I can't (thank you lapband) but it's still like "OK, I'm ready for this to be over so I can be back on track"...

You are stronger than I! What's with the office and goodies?! Doesn't anyone ever bring fruit?
