Atkins Day One

Today, my first day on Atkins, went fine.

The food is good, but I'm definitely going through some carb withdrawals. I'm grumpy. I've had a low grade headache since the afternoon and I'm freakin' tired. I just fed the parrots and after I put them to bed, I'm going to sleep too. I saw that Amy posted that she's had a lack of energy on Atkins. I will definitely say that is the case here too. Maybe I'll feel more energetic in a few days after withdrawing from carbs...who knows?

I did discover that unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze is pretty good. I had a cup of coffee and a cup of tea with a splash of that stuff and I enjoyed both. One gram of carb per cup, and only 40 calories.

I am grumpy too. But my first day was okay! I found myself wanting to snack quite a bit and just ate a lot of cheese. Tomorrow I'll regret that! We can do it though!!

i've never done atkins...but i've done south beach. the first week is the worst. after that, you'll likely feel like you have MORE energy. good luck! it definitely gets easier!

Hi there! Thanks for popping by my blog! I like South Beach and have never done Atkins, but I always look at South Beach like lower carb but the carbs I eat are the good ones like berries and apples etc. No super sweet fruits like bananas or watermelon. Good luck for a quick carb withdrawal. After that you'll notice a lot more energy.

Good luck on fighting those carb cravings. It was the hardest thing for me when I did Atkins. I LOVE almond breeze! Keep us updated!

I only went off sugar and carbs for 10 days and I gotta tell you I lacked energy. Perhaps it takes longer than 10 days to feel the energy come back. Now I am doing 40/30/30 and I feel much much better.
